Cherokee Sunrise

I’ve long held an affinity towards the Cherokee Reservation in Western North Carolina. Majestic mountain ranges surround the unique mountain village, offering insulation from the noise and commotion of ever-expanding industrialization. Close-knit community bonds are evident as one explores the reservation. Whether watching village children frolic in the parks and streams in summer, witnessing the beautiful colors of autumn, or surviving the harsh winter weather common in the upper elevations; one can feel the spirit of community consistent throughout the region.

This image from our “Landscape Gallery”, was captured from Morton Bluff, just north of Cherokee. A light dusting of snow helps to add just enough contrast in the foreground to accentuate darker areas, while distant sunlight illuminates several mountain ranges along the horizon.
